2003
TTSCC Installation & Awards Dinner

The really
neat thing about the January Banquet / Meeting is that there is a bar
and a dinner before the business meeting. As one might expect
that makes it one of the best attended meetings of the year. Some 33
people gathered to sip, sup and socialize. The buffet was sumptuous
and satisfying, no one left thirsty or hungry. In the normal flow of events at an installation dinner the past president, Michael Link, commented on the past years events and people. Recognition of the 2002 officers was made, with an attractive acrylic globe (in the spirit of the Triumph World logo) paperweight. Since only two officers changed this year, the new 2003 group was introduced at the same time. VP changed to Bob Kinderlehrer from Bud Morris and Activities changed to Karyn Gibbon / Diane Gold from Bill / Bobbie Knapp. Michael then acknowledged the many appointees from 2002 as well. They all received Starbucks gift cards (nobody can ever have too much coffee!) Bud Morris then announced the most active members from 2002: Jim Bauder with 138 for 1 st half of the year and Frank Baumann with 113 for the 2 nd half. He also made a plea on behalf of the new VP for everyone to PLEASE turn in their activities info to allow accurate tallying the points. Next, Bill Knapp, presented awards for Activity Hosts of 2002. We had 18 hosts for 23 events during 2002. Each host received a personalized coffee mug with a picture of their Triumph and the hosted event(s) on it. Rather nice, if I do say so myself. The awards part of the meeting is the formal acknowledgement of the work done by many many members. This is what really makes a club special. THANKS to all who put in time and effort AND also those who participated throughout the year of 2002. New business was wrapped up with a request for volunteers to fill in the appointee positions for 2003. Also the new Activities Chairs, encouraged members to start thinking about activities for 2003. We adjourned at 9:45 to continue with sipping and socializing. Bill |
