Polar Bear Run '03

"Beware the Ides of March" called out the prognosticators of heavens fury, "for surely there will be torrents of rain and Myrriah will make herself known to all those that venture forth". Ok, they didn't quite say it like that, but in spite of the weather forecasters' grim predictions, 19 Travelers headed out for a tour of the California back roads. We started out with breakfast at Lynn and Michael Link's, our hosts for the event, and then headed out through the Almaden Valley, into the Carmel Valley, around Carmel and down the ever scenic Rt 1 to Big Sur where we stopped for lunch at the Rocky Point Restaurant. As it turned out, the weather forecasters with their humongous computers, supersensitive radar systems, and geo-synchronous spy satellites, were wrong again (what a great job to have!) and mother nature shone upon us for a great top down kind of day.
