27 | Sat | All Day | Snow Ball Rally | The 2024 Snowball Rally will take place April 26th* 27th & 28th, 2024 San Francisco* - Sacramento - Lake Tahoe - Sacramento As the officially endorsed successor of the Alpine 500 Rally (2003-2007), the Snowball Rally aims to return classic rally cars tothe untamed back roads, and elements of Northern California's Gold Country, High Sierra, and the Tahoe Basin. Each year in April the Snowball gathers 50+ classic sports car buffs in Sacramento and treats them to an all-weather tour of the most beautiful back roads the Sierra Nevada has to offer... on the cheap! Unlike some other classic sports car driving events, we understand the cost of building and running old cars, so we have always believed that an event entry shouldn't cost more than a set of tires, or a transmission rebuild. Sure, chances are you won't see a Bugatti or enjoy a catered lunch at a revered winery but you may experience the thrill of running with oil burning MGs, coolant belching Alfas, and oil dribbling Porsches. Remember, what we lack in pedigreed machinery and gourmet cuisine we make up for in grass roots enthusiasm and fun! However, don't be ashamed if your ride regularly scores well at a Concours d'Elegance, we like those cars too. What's important is your enthusiasm for driving and a willingness to mix it up with the often unwashed masses of the old sports car hobby. However... please make sure that you and your vehicle are ready for the adventure as the weather is unpredictable and there are no chase vehicles. (AAA may take quite awhile to get where you might end up). All we require is a good attitude, a pre-1980 sports or touring car (no trucks or SUVs) and a paltry entry fee, ($550) which covers both driver and a navigator and includes: overnight hotel accommodations, awards banquet, t-shirts, stickers, instruction booklet, and more! Payment can be made by check to: Jeff Guzaitis 1320 Griffith St San Francisco, CA 94124 Or for your convenience by Paypal to: the_shoog@yahoo.com (Please choose the "friends and family" tab) Important date: March 15th - Last day for entry without the additional $50 late fee | |||
